PARADE IN NANTUCKET: In the early 1800's, Nantucket residents were treated
to one of the strangest parades that ever clattered over its cobbles. An
entirely all-Negro crew, after returning from a very successful four year
voyage on a whaleship,paraded down Main street waving harpoons and spades
led by two mates on horseback brandishing "boarding knives".
